राज्यसभा में एक प्रश्न के लिखित उत्तर में, केंद्रीय गृह एवं सहकारिता मंत्री अमित शाह ने कहा कि लगभग 45 मल्टी स्टेट क्रेडिट को-ऑपरेटिव सोसायटियों और पांच बहुराज्यीय सहकारी समितियों को कई खामियों के चलते बंद किया जाएगा।
बहुउद्देशीय सहकारी समितियों के मामले में, समृद्ध जीवन मल्टी स्टेट मल्टी-पर्पस कोऑपरेटिव सोसाइटी लिमिटेड, पुणे, एसपी ग्लोबल मल्टीपर्पज कोऑपरेटिव सोसाइटी लिमिटेड, पुणे, लक्ष्य मल्टीपर्पज कोऑपरेटिव सोसाइटी लिमिटेड, बठिंडा, हैप्पी फ्यूचर मल्टीपर्पज कोऑपरेटिव सोसाइटी लिमिटेड, चेन्नई और जनलक्ष्मी मल्टीपर्पज कोऑपरेटिव सोसाइटी लिमिटेड, अलीगढ़ को बंद करने की कार्यवाही चल रही है।
बहु राज्य सहकारी समितियां (एमएससीएस) अधिनियम, 2002 के तहत कुल 1509 बहु राज्य सहकारी समितियां पंजीकृत हैं और अपने सदस्यों के प्रति जवाबदेह स्वायत्त सहकारी संगठनों के रूप में कार्य करती हैं”, शाह ने रेखांकित किया।
अपने जवाब में शाह ने कहा कि 45 मल्टी स्टेट क्रेडिट को ऑपरेटिव सोसायटियों के खिलाफ पहले ही समापन की कार्यवाही शुरू की जा चुकी है। ऐसी समितियों का विवरण नीचे दिया गया है:
